1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to website owners.

2. How We Use Cookies

TIN Validate uses cookies to provide essential functionality, protect forms and checkout flows, manage authenticated sessions, and enforce guest validation quotas. We also use analytics to understand traffic, interactions, session replay behaviour, and improve the Service.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the Service to function properly. They include:

Cookie Purpose Duration
tv_session User authentication and session management 14 days
csrftoken Cross-site request forgery protection Browser session
guest_id Guest validation quota tracking and abuse prevention 7 days

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services. Some may set cookies. PostHog may set first-party analytics cookies or use similar browser storage when analytics are enabled.

Service Purpose Privacy Policy
Cloudflare Turnstile Bot protection and security View
Paddle Payment processing View
PostHog Traffic analytics, autocaptured interaction analytics, and session replay for Service improvement View

4. Managing Cookies

With your consent, the OpenAI Ads pixel uses the first-party __oppref cookie to attribute registrations and purchases to ChatGPT ads. We store your accept or decline choice in browser storage as tv_ads_consent until you change it or clear browser storage. The prompt appears on ChatGPT campaign landing pages. The pixel loads only after acceptance, on campaign landings and subsequent visits with its referral cookie. Ignoring the prompt does not save campaign attribution. Use Advertising preferences in the footer to change your choice; declining stops future measurement events.

You can control and manage cookies in several ways:

  • Browser Settings: Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings
  • Browser Extensions: Privacy-focused browser extensions can help manage cookies

Please note that disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using certain features of our Service, such as logging in to your account.
