Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands does not issue Tax Identification Numbers (TINs) or equivalent identifiers for tax purposes. There is no Cayman Islands TIN to validate. For CRS/FATCA reporting, use a TIN only where one is issued by another jurisdiction of tax residence for the person or entity concerned.
TIN status
No separate local TIN format is published for validation.
- 1 The DITC FI number is an AEOI portal identifier and is not a TIN.
- 2 General Registry numbers, CIMA licence or registration numbers, IRS GIINs, CbCR IDs, and NOTIN placeholders are compliance, registry, or reporting-context identifiers rather than Cayman Islands TIN types for CRS/FATCA customer tax identification.
- 3 Where a person or entity is tax-resident in another jurisdiction, use the TIN issued by that other jurisdiction if one is required for the relevant reporting context.
